Found a low mileage 2018 GT in DIP but the Carfax equivalent here is pretty useless. Where do you guys take a Mustang for a proper pre purchase inspection?
I’m pretty set on joining the V8 club and I’ve been to see a 2018 Mustang GT over in Dubai Investments Park that’s got the performance pack and the active exhaust, which is exactly the spec I’ve been hunting for months. The test drive felt solid and the engine pulled hard without any weird ticks or rattles, but I’m not naive enough to think a twenty minute spin around the block tells the whole story on a car that’s clearly been enjoyed by a previous owner. I’m specifically worried about the MT82 manual gearbox if it’s been powershifted to death, or if the air conditioning evaporator is about to give up which I hear is a massive job on these S550s because the whole dash has to come out. I was looking into getting a Mustang Pre Purchase Car Check Dubai done by someone who knows these cars well enough to spot a bent suspension component or a clutch that’s on its last legs. The seller is fine with an inspection but I want to make sure I take it to a place that actually understands American muscle and won’t just give me a generic report about tire tread depth. Anyone had a PPI done on a Mustang locally and can recommend a shop that really knows what to look for on these fifth and sixth gen cars?
