So there I was driving back from Fujairah last weekend, cruising along happily, when suddenly the transmission starts shifting really hard and the PRNDS display starts flashing on the dash. My heart just dropped. Limped the car to a petrol station and spent an hour on my phone trying to find someone open on a Friday afternoon. Eventually found a place that advertises as a Reliable Audi Specialist Sharjah and the guy agreed to stay late to scan the car for me. Turned out to be a faulty selector lever sensor, not the whole gearbox dying like I feared. He cleared the codes, did a quick adaptation reset, and charged me basically nothing for the emergency help. I ended up getting the sensor replaced properly later in the week. Just wanted to say there are still decent people out there who won’t take advantage when you’re stranded. Anyone else have a roadside scare that turned out better than expected?
