W221 S550 AC shuts off completely when I accelerate hard. Never seen this before.

Got a weird one for you guys. My 2012 S550 has been flawless for years but recently the AC has started doing this thing where if I give it even moderate throttle to merge onto the highway the whole climate system just cuts out for a second or two like the compressor disengages completely and then comes right back once I ease off the gas. It’s not the fan, the air is still blowing, but it goes from ice cold to instantly warm humid air and then back to cold again. My first thought was maybe the belt is slipping under load but I had that checked and it’s fine, no squeal or anything. Then I started reading about some kind of load shedding logic in the ECU where it cuts the compressor to give the engine more power but on a 5.5 liter V8 that seems absolutely ridiculous. I’m really hoping it’s not the compressor clutch on its way out or some electrical gremlin in the SAM module because I know those repairs get stupid expensive fast. Since I’m not trying to pay dealer rates for a car that’s over a decade old, I’ve been looking around for a Trusted Mercedes AC Workshop in Sharjah that knows these W221 chassis well enough to tell me if it’s a sensor issue or something mechanical. Anyone else ever had their AC nope out during acceleration or am I just lucky?
